Questions

How many ACA-accredited camps are in this directory?
2,276 camps that are accredited by the American Camp Association, in 52 states and territories, from the camps’ own public listings. 1,293 of them have overnight sessions. The most are in California (227), New York (222), Pennsylvania (143).
Do ACA-accredited camps fill up?
Many of the older sleepaway camps fill their sessions early and keep a waitlist. Each camp runs its own registration and waitlist: join it on the camp’s site, then set up a watch here, and we email you when we see a spot open on the camp’s public registration page.
What does ACA accredited mean?
The American Camp Association accredits camps through a voluntary peer review against nearly 300 standards for health, safety, program quality and risk management, from staff screening and training to emergency plans, transportation and swimming. It can be granted on a three-year cycle, and camps are expected to keep to the standards every year. Accreditation is listed here as the camp’s own American Camp Association listing shows it.
What does it cost?
$25 per camp, paid once. It covers that camp through this summer — nothing renews.

Directory facts come from camps’ own public listings (the American Camp Association’s directory today) and can lag or change — always confirm details with each camp directly.

Camp Notice is an independent alert service for parents and is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or sponsored by any camp. Registration and payment always happen on the camp’s own site.
